2nd Call for applications (December 2021)

Basic information

  • This call offers three visiting professor positions in the Doctoral School of Wrocław University of Science and Technology (WUST) in summer semester 2021/2022.
  • The course for doctoral students given by the visiting professor should include 15 hours of classes. The course must be conducted in English and may include various teaching options (e.g., lecture and seminar). The course may be attended by all doctoral students of the WUST Doctoral School.
  • Financial support for the preparation and delivery of the course includes remuneration for the visiting professor in the amount of PLN 15 000 (PLN 1 000 per one hour of course). The amount of remuneration is reduced in accordance with applicable law (i.e. taxes) and the regulations of WUST.
  • The application should be submitted by an employee of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology referred to as the “attendant”. The attendant supports the Dean's Office in contacts with the visiting professor and is responsible for for the organization of the course (e.g., booking an appropriate didactic room). Moreover, the attendant is responsible for assisting the visiting professor during his/her stay at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. After the course conducted by the visiting professor is completed, the attendant obtains his remuneration (PLN 800 gross/gross salary).
  • The application submission deadline is 20 December 2021.

Submission procedure

The application with required attachments should be sent by WUST employee (attendent) to email address: interdocschool@pwr.edu.pl. The application should be sent as two pdf files: one pdf as a scan of the application with the required signatures, and second pdf as the application without signatures. We kindly ask you to send the scan as a pdf file, documents in the form of photos or image files will not be accepted.

The required attachments are:

  • CV of the visiting professor.
  • The initial declaration stating that the visiting professor is ready to elaborate and deliver a course.

Deadlines

  • The application submission deadline is 20 December 2021.
  • Competition results will be announced till 21 January 2022.
  • The course of a visiting professor granted in this call should be conducted in the summer semester 2021/2022, i.e., in period 1 March 2022 – 30 September 2022.

Application evaluation criteria

The applications will be evaluated by a three-person committee consisting of members of the Doctoral School Council. The committee awards points on a scale of 0-10 for each criterion. The final result is a weighted sum taking into account the weights applied to individual criteria. The best two applications (with the highest ranking) will be awarded.
