Natalia Szemiot-Jankowska - a doctoral student in civil engineering, geodesy and transport – will deliver a seminar "The effect of salts on the effectiveness of secondary anti-damp insulation by chemical injection" presenting the results of the InterDocSchool 3-month research stay at Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Boston, USA) under the supervision of prof. Admit Masic. The seminar will be held at 7:30 – 8:00 on January 2nd, 2024 on the Zoom platform (link available for all interested upon request). The main research objective of the research visit was chemical analysis of the interphase between the injection material and the brick and the determination of chemical and crystallographic composition of the bricks.

Daniel Szopa – a doctoral student in the discipline of chemical engineering – will deliver a seminar "Ultrasonic hydrolysis is a cost-effective method of producing biostimulants from high-protein materials" presenting the results of the InterDocSchool 1-month research stay at Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain), under supervision of Prof. Dr. Jose V Garcia-Perez. The research aimed to evaluate the possibility of using ultrasound to increase the recovery rate of amino acids and reduce the costs of chemical hydrolysis compared to the conventional method.

Aksan Fachrizal – a doctoral student in automation, electronic, electrical engineering and space technologies  – will deliver a seminar „Prediction of Regional PV Power Generation Based on LSTM-CNN.”after InterDocSchool research trips presenting the results of the InterDocSchool 3-months research stay at Brandenburg University of Technology, Germany under supervision of Dr Ing. The primary research objective of the research visit was to enhance the development of forecasting methods for the domain of power systems. One of the preliminary research areas focused on comparing hybrid deep learning models (LSTM-CNN, CNN-LSTM) and baseline models to accurately predict regional PV power production in Eastern Germany.

Karolina Stefańska – a doctoral student in physical sciences  – will deliver a seminar „Experimental studies on helicon wavepackets and spin-orbit coupling of light in optical fibers” presenting the results of the InterDocSchool 1-month research stay at Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire Carnot de Bourgogne, Université Bourgogne Franche-Comté, France under supervision of Dr. Bertrand Kibler. The main research objective of the stay was linear impactor experiments on American Football helmets with different configurations of additional cork protection layer.

Seminar of Pawel Zielonka after research trip to University of Porto, Portugal

Pawel Zielonka – a doctoral student in mechanical engineering – will deliver a seminar  “Application of the Representative Volume Element in hybrid fibre reinforced polymer structure investigation” presenting the results of the InterDocSchool month research stay at University of Porto (Portugal), under the supervision of prof. The main objective of this research visit was to develop the computational techniques to investigate various hybrid microstructures with a random distribution of the fibres. The outcome from the analysis will be used to select several structures to further manufacturing and mechanical testing.

Joseph Daniel Gbubele will deliver a seminar "Asymmetric Domino-reactions towards Norcarane Structures through the Combination of Dienamine Catalysis and the (Pseudo)-halogen effect" presenting the results of the InterDocSchool 3-month research stay at  Chemistry Department of Aarhus University, under supervision of  Professor Karl Anker Jørgensen . The seminar will be held at 10:00 on 24.11.2022 in room 321/323 A3. The main research objective of the research visit was to make a research to push the boundaries of halogen and pseudo-halogen effects, as well as asymmetric aminocatalysis, to promote an inverse electron demand Diels-Alder reaction. The intermediate goes through an SN2-like reaction by using a halogen or pseudo-halogen as a leaving group in the ring-closing to form complex norcarane products with four stereocenters, two of which are all carbon quaternary stereocenters.

Sindu Daniarta – a doctoral student in environmental engineering, mining, and energy – will deliver a seminar entitled "Two-phase expansion in CD nozzle using ANSYS CFX" presenting the results of the InterDocSchool 1-month research stay at the Centre for Compressor Technology, City, University of London in the United Kingdom under supervision of Professor Ahmed Kovacevic.
