This task is dedicated to developing activities related to internationalisation “at home”. In more detail, the Project assumes organisation of 10 series of 15-hour lectures, by visiting professors (guest lecturers). The offer of intensive courses will be directed to WUST PhD students. Applications with candidates for visiting professors containing the initial agreement of the proposed candidate, the subject, the schedule and the form of the course will be considered in an open competition. The Doctoral School will announce calls (competitions) for proposals twice a year (for each semester) with two series of 15-hour lectures to be granted. Candidates will be announced by WUST researchers, after agreeing with the candidate, who can be any scientist from abroad (also a Polish citizen working in a foreign university/institution). Interdisciplinary lectures on current topics will be preferred, since they are attractive to PhD students from various disciplines. The assessment team selected from the Doctoral School Board will develop detailed rules for the lectures. Visiting professors will prepare materials for course participants. Participation in the course will constitute the basis for crediting it as a completed specialist course under the doctoral student training program, which is enabled by the individual and interdisciplinary training programme currently used at WUST.
The involvement of specialists from abroad from the best centers conducting research in a given subject in the education of doctoral students of the WUST Doctoral School will greatly contribute to internationalisation. As a result, our doctoral students will be able to learn about new results of world-class research and acquire skills to conduct research with international cooperation. It will effectively influence the extension and diversification of the teaching offer, development of good practices and establishing international contacts. Contact with outstanding scientists will increase the qualifications of young WUST scientists and will also affect the interdisciplinary nature of their research. Lectures will provide an opportunity to establish contacts and cooperation. Moreover, guest lectures should improve the quality of education in WUST doctoral school and the quality of research of doctoral students by transferring international experience to WUST.
