5th Call for applications (May 2023)

Basic information

  • This call offers doctoral students of our Doctoral School:
    • 3 foreign research trips (research visit) for a period of 3 months.
    • 3 foreign research trips (research visit) for a period of 1 month.
  • The application submission deadline is 17 May 2023.
  • The research trip granted in this call should be implemented in the period 1 July 2023 – 10 December 2023, it should  end by 10 December 2023.
  • The InterDocSchool project provides financial support for accommodation, living costs and travel expenses (flat rate) according to regulations of NAWA.
  • The scientific plan of the trip must be confirmed by the mentor (host person).
  • The destination of the research trip must be a scientific institution located in an OECD country.
  • Since this is the last call and the budget for travel expenses is limited, research trips in Europe are preferred.

Submission procedure

The application with required attachments should be sent by email to address: interdocschool@pwr.edu.pl. The application should be sent as two pdf files: one pdf as a scan of the application with the required signatures, and second pdf as the application without signatures. We kindly ask you to send the scan as a pdf file, documents in the form of photos or image files will not be accepted.

The required attachments are:

  • CV of the mentor (host person).
  • Approval of the research trip scientific plan by the mentor (host person).

Deadlines

  • The application submission deadline is 17 May 2023.
  • Competition results will be announced till 13 June 2023.
  • The whole research visit granted in this call should be implemented in the period 1 July 2023 – 10 December 2023.

Application evaluation criteria

The applications will be evaluated by a three-person committee consisting of members of the Doctoral School Council. The committee awards points on a scale of 0-10 for each criterion. The final result is a weighted sum taking into account the weights applied to individual criteria. The best three applications (with the highest ranking) for each length of the research trip will be awarded.

7 Profile of the mentor (host person) (publications, H index according to Scopus database, participation in research projects, cooperation with the social and economic communities, supervision of doctoral dissertations). 4
8 The rank of the research unit in which the foreign research stay will take place. Universities are assessed on the basis of the current international Shanghai ranking http://www.shanghairanking.com
The position of the University in the world:
1-100 - 10 points
101-200 - 8 points
201-300 - 6 points
301-500 - 4 points
501-1000 - 2 points
Companies - experience in R&D and the number of patents taken out in the last 10 years - 1-10 points.
