Scholarships

The task is to implement a competition for doctoral scholarships and the payment of scholarships for the best foreign and Polish doctoral students at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (WUST) conducting doctoral projects in international cooperation and aiming to obtain a joint degree or double degree. Doctoral students will be able to take part in subsequent competitions regardless of having received a scholarship before.

Within this task, it is planned to finance 12 scholarships. Scholarships will be awarded for one year (12 months), and the achievements of competition winners will be reviewed every semester. We plan two open calls (competitions) for academic years 2021/2022 and 2022/2023. Each year, 6 scholarships will be awarded. Each scholarship financed from the Project amounts to PLN 5,000 (gross) and it is paid for 12 months. The scholarship obtained within the Project will replace the standard doctoral scholarship paid by WUST Doctoral School according to Polish Law.

Beneficiaries (scholarship holders) will be selected in a competition according to criteria developed in cooperation with the Doctoral School Board in order to select the winners showing the largest internationalisation of scientific work and those who have specified in their individual research plans that their scientific and research activities will be based mainly on international cooperation. The competition itself will provide equal access regardless of the doctoral student's nationality and aims to support the most talented international researchers (doctorates).
